About Seedbox 101
What this site is
Seedbox 101 is a set of plain-language guides about running your own media library — Plex, Jellyfin, the automation stack, and the rented machines that host them. It exists because most writing on the subject assumes either that you already know Linux, or that you will not ask what anything costs.
How it is funded
Links to DediSeedbox are affiliate links. If you subscribe through one, we earn a commission; the price you pay is identical. Nothing else on the site is sponsored, and no host has paid to be recommended.
Why only one host is named
Naming ten hosts and linking all of them would earn more clicks and mean less. We recommend the one we track, whose conversion and retention we measure, and we say so on every link. Other hosts are named in the guides where they are relevant, without links. For a full market comparison we point to seedboxcompare.com, which we also run.
How prices are handled
Every price on this site carries the date it was checked — currently 2026-09-01. Hosting prices move, and a figure without a date becomes a false promise within months. If you find one that has drifted, tell us and we will fix it.
What we will not write
We do not publish instructions for evading copyright detection. The guides cover what a media server is for — your own footage, discs you own, public-domain and freely licensed work — and treat the legal questions factually where they arise. That is a deliberate line, not an oversight.
